Indoor air quality: BASF has achieved GREENGUARD certification for many of its construction industry products. One example is BASF’s Neopor® insulation which is globally recognized with GREENGUARD Gold certification for indoor air quality.
Low global warming potential (GWP): Due to its low GWP blowing agent, optimized supply chains, high R-value to mass ratio, and regional foam production across North America; Neopor® is one of the lowest embodied carbon rigid insulations available. This is further supported by 3rd party verified EPD’s compared within the EC3 Tool which demonstrates Neopor® to be the lowest embodied carbon rigid insulation made in North America.
BASF wants to contribute to a world that provides a viable future with enhanced quality of life for everyone. We do so by creating chemistry for our customers and society and by making the best use of available resources. Sustainability is at the core of what we do, a driver for growth as well as an element of our risk management.
For example, we have defined sustainability focus areas within our corporate strategy. These formulate the commitments with which BASF positions itself in the market and how it aims to meet the growing challenges along the value chain.
- We source responsibly: BASF assumes responsibility for environmental protection along the value chain.
- We produce safely and efficiently: We never compromise on safety. We respond to emergencies by being well prepared at all times and at all sites.
- We drive sustainable solutions: We have set voluntary long-term global goals in the areas of economy, environment, safety, employees and society. Through these goals, sustainable development at BASF is transparent and verifiable.
- We value people and treat them with respect: Our employees are fundamental for achieving the goals of our “We create chemistry” strategy.
